Griffis Parents: Thank you for your patience as we were dismissing in the pouring rain this afternoon. Here are a few reminders for dismissal with heavy rain, thunderstorms or severe weather:
If your child is normally a walker, parents have two options:
1. Normal routine of meeting your child at the playground fence.
2. Join the appropriate car line to pick your child up in a vehicle.
We will not dismiss bike riders or walkers without a guardian present for all grade levels.
Please call the front office to make a transportation change for your bike rider or walker due to the weather.
Car rider signs help with the dismissal process. If you need a sign, please contact your child's teacher.
Thank you for your help ensuring that dismissal runs smoothly even in inclement weather.
Last week Mrs. Wright’s and Mrs. Dawn’s Pre-K learned about plants. We planted caterpillar gardens, beans in a bag, and beanstalks. We are also trying our hand at plant propagation. We were excited to see roots sprouting and grass growing this morning!

Mrs. Givens is a superhero at Griffis, showing us the amazing world of books and stories. You're not just the one who keeps track of books; you're the one who help us find the coolest stories, the funniest jokes, and the most interesting facts.
She is always smiling and encouraging us to read more. She makes the library a fun and safe place where we can explore new worlds and learn new things.
Thanks for helping us become better readers and for making school awesome! We love you Mrs. Givens!
