GT students worked together and competed against others to build the longest & strongest bone bridge using specific materials and criteria.
We are thankful turkeys in Mrs. Wright’s and Mrs. Dawn’s Pre-K! Today we practiced number recognition, number writing, and counting. We made clay turkeys and gave them feathers for our math model.

Parents and Families: Who are you GRATEFUL for? We know you have a teacher, custodian, paraprofessional or a member of the office that you are grateful for. Let's let them know!! We love doing this activity for our staff members in the month of November. One of our Capturing Kids' Heart focus is AFFIRMATIONS. We want our teachers to hear affirmations from parents and families also. A kind statement can go a long way. One of my favorite things to see in the classrooms is affirmations notes from staff members, students and parents visible near the teacher's desk. It is a reminder that is needed on those hard days. We will print these out for our teachers and share for them to have. I promise you, it will brighten their day, week and month!

Today we celebrated some of our 2nd-4th grade students at our Golden Celebration. We recognized go getters, good friends and students with an attitude of gratitude. We had a mystery fox, Coach Summers stop by! Thank you CMMS Cheerleaders for joining us today. It's a GREAT day to be a FOX, Go Griffis!

Policy activity has ended in Caddo Downs- dismissal procedures will continue as normal.
Griffis Elementary is currently in a Secure Hold due to an arrest warrant being served in Caddo Downs. We will dismiss buses and cars as normal. If you live in Caddo Downs or Stonehaven you must pick up your child. We will not send walkers or bike riders on their own. We will hold students in the
Office until you are able to pick up. Please call the front office for questions.

Mrs. Miller's 4th graders survived Fear Factor today. We all had a blast!
Mrs. Heald's second grade class is making Haunted Place Value Houses and listening to spooky tunes while working.
Mrs. Dennison's 4th Grade Math is having fun using Long Division and Multi-Step problems to solve the Antidote Escape Room.
Mrs. Bonny's class is preparing for our field trip to the Cowboy's Stadium by using the steps of the Scientific Method to see how far we can flick a paper football!
