One Act Play finished its season at the Area contest on April 12, 2024 in Tyler, TX. The company of Blue Stockings had their best performance yet but did not advance to the Regional level of competition. However, as one the top 48 plays in the state, Caddo Mills OAP had a remarkable year. The following students were recognized for their individual performances: Mackenzie Anderson with Honorable Mention, Silas Miller and Lauren Kansy with All Star Cast, and Avalynn Ackenback as All Star Tech. As the new directors at Caddo Mills High School, Mr. & Mrs. Landry would like to thank the administration, teachers, and parents of the company for all the support they have given to make this group and all of the Arts in Caddo Mills successful. It truly is a great day, to be a fox!
The April Staff Member of the Month is Ashley Gandy!
Mrs. Gandy is one of the pillars of CMHS. She climbs mountains for her students! She wears many hats and gives 100% in everything she does. From spearheading NHS this year, to helping with FCA, as well as giving our students countless artistic opportunities such as VASE, the Hunt County Fair, Veteran’s Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, and many others. She promotes our students’ work in the best ways! The hallways of CMHS are always decorated with student-created art. Her impact extends beyond the walls of her classroom. We are so grateful to Mrs. Gandy for the team player that she is to her coworkers and the advocate that she is for her students.
The April Student of the Month for CMHS is Sean Amelia!
Sean's growth in the shop this year is truly commendable. Not only has he exhibited unwavering dedication as a hard worker, but he has also seamlessly transitioned into a leadership role. He mentors Intro Ag Mech students with expertise, guiding them through the intricacies of projects and instilling in them a drive for exceptional output.
Sean has made significant strides in honing his skills. He has earned a Welding Certification, showcasing his commitment to excellence. His talent shines through in competitions, where he has consistently excelled, placing within the top ten out of 200 students and securing valuable scholarship funds exceeding $4000 for trade school tuition.
Sean has fearlessly embraced new challenges by participating in unfamiliar Career Development Events. Despite facing steep competition, he and his team placed a remarkable 5th out of 12 teams at the Area 5 contest, narrowly missing the chance to advance to State. Yet, Sean's resilience is truly inspiring; instead of succumbing to disappointment, he immediately set his sights on future success, vowing to return next year with unwavering determination to secure a spot at the State level. His boundless enthusiasm and unwavering grit embody the spirit of a FOX.
